Sometimes you’re getting through the day, doing what needs to be done, and appearing fine to everyone around you—while internally, you’re exhausted.
Anxiety and depression can show up in many different ways. You might find yourself constantly overthinking, worrying about things you can’t control, feeling overwhelmed by decisions, struggling to slow your mind down, or putting enormous pressure on yourself to keep everything together. Or you may feel disconnected, unmotivated, irritable, exhausted, or simply unlike yourself.
At Wild Roots Counseling Services, therapy isn’t about telling you to “think positively” or giving you another list of things you should be doing. We want to understand what’s underneath what you’re experiencing and help you develop ways of coping that actually fit your life.
You Don’t Have to Be in Crisis to Need Support
Many people wait to seek therapy because they believe someone else has it worse, they’re still functioning, or they should be able to handle things on their own.
But struggling doesn’t always look like falling apart. Sometimes it looks like being the person everyone relies on while you’re running on empty. It can look like accomplishing everything on your list while your mind never stops worrying, withdrawing from things you used to enjoy, or feeling as though you’re going through the motions of your own life.
Therapy can give you a place to slow down, understand what’s happening beneath the surface, and focus on yourself without having to take care of anyone else in the room.

Therapy That Looks at More Than Symptoms
Anxiety and depression rarely exist in a vacuum. Sometimes they’re connected to current stressors; other times, they may be influenced by relationships, past experiences, trauma, expectations you’ve placed on yourself, or patterns you’ve developed over time.
At Wild Roots Counseling Services, we’re interested in helping you understand not only what you’re feeling, but also what may be contributing to it. Together, we can identify patterns, build practical coping skills, and work toward changes that feel meaningful and sustainable in your everyday life.
Our Approach to Therapy
Therapy at Wild Roots is collaborative, compassionate, and individualized. We don’t believe there’s one approach that works for everyone, so treatment is tailored to your experiences, goals, and what feels most helpful to you.
Our clinicians draw from evidence-based and trauma-informed approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and elements of Internal Family Systems (IFS). When past experiences or trauma are contributing to current symptoms, approaches such as EMDR or Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) may also be incorporated when appropriate.
Along with learning practical strategies for managing symptoms, therapy can be a place to better understand yourself, recognize patterns that may no longer be serving you, develop greater self-compassion, and create changes that extend beyond simply feeling “less anxious” or “less depressed.”
Is Therapy Right for Me?
You don’t need to know exactly what’s wrong or have a specific diagnosis before reaching out. Maybe you know you’re anxious. Maybe you think you might be depressed. Or maybe you simply know that something doesn’t feel right and you’re tired of trying to figure it out on your own.
That’s enough of a reason to start the conversation. We’ll work together to understand what you’re experiencing and determine what kind of support may be most helpful.
